I'm Ali Grant, the Founder of Be Social. Be Social is a communications agency for brands and talent. I started Be Social in 2011 to take the traditional PR approach and transform it in order to combine in exacting mix of traditional and digital.

With a fresh, savvy approach to modern media, we create strategies for brands and talent to connect to their consumers. We specialize in public relations, social media marketing, and influencer relations. Next-level service is the core of our company, and we work closely with each of our customers to make sure we're succeeding together.

THE STRUGGLE

Email takes up a large part of my work day. My personal goal is to end each day at inbox zero, so that each morning I can come in with a fresh start. In a world where email rules the workplace, that can be easier said than done.

The thing with email is everybody does it on their own schedule. Because I'm in a leadership position and building and scaling my company, there's a lot of communication that comes goes through me. I'm getting flooded throughout the day. Before I had any tools to manage this, my inbox was drowning me and overtaking my work flow.

I was keeping my inbox as clean as I could but having messages stay in my inbox for days at a time was just a constant reminder of what was coming and didn't give me the headspace I needed to be in the moment and focus on the task at hand.

THE SOLUTION

I discovered Boomerang via a referral from a friend in the industry. They mentioned it was a huge time-saver, so we had to check it out. I am so glad we did!

We were already using G Suite and initially set it up because of ease and convenience! G Suite provides everything we need to do our work well in one integrated platform, from calendars to email to spreadsheets and chat. It's our one stop shop for all of our digital and organization solutions and everyone in my company uses it every single day.

We've been able to use the tools Google provides for everything: client reports to influencer list building, communicating and scheduling client meetings. With G Suite, Google provides a solution for our everyday operations. I'm sure there is a ton of thought and planning that goes into each tool we use, but as a customer everything just comes across seamlessly, like it was designed for us in mind. I think the biggest thing G Suite has provided Be Social is time.

I was already very familiar with email and I had set my account up in a way that worked for me. It's important to me that any tool I'm using is not a hassle to set up because we don't have a bunch of time to waste learning how to use new programs. Boomerang met this requirement and allowed me to keep using my email like I always had, but enhanced. Just a quick install and a page refresh got me up and running and my email looked the same way it always had, now with a couple extra buttons.

Right away, I could see how great Boomerang was for me and I ended up signing up our whole team - we're all hooked!

It's helped me clean up my inbox, focus on the pressing items and get back to the rest on a timely basis that's more convenient for me.

Now I don't have to worry about a message getting stale in my inbox and constantly reminding me what is coming. I can just Boomerang it out of there and have it come back at the exact time I need it - and I don't have to see or think about it in between. I really don't want to go back to what we were doing before.

And I know that it's not just me who's benefiting, it's my entire company. A tool like Boomerang is a no brainer for us because it saves everyone on my team gobs of time and lets us work together effectively. I make sure everyone on my team who wants Boomerang gets it because I want to build a team that is maximizing their productivity and not slaving away trying to get through their inbox.
