Once you install Boomerang and finish writing your email, click the Request Read Receipt and Track Clicks icon in the bottom right of the Gmail compose window. Boomerang will add a read receipt notification to the bottom of the message, and will also track clicks on any links you have included in the body of the message. Soon after the message is read, Boomerang will send you a notification that the recipient has read your message.
You can also see if your email was read by going to your Boomerang Manage page. Click on the Boomerang link in the black bar at the top of your Gmail window, then choose “Manage Scheduled Messages” from the drop down menu. Under the "Tracked Messages" tab you can see more details including how many times your message has been read, or which links have been clicked.

Boomerang for Gmail. First off, if you don’t have it, stop reading this and go get it. Right now. There’s absolutely no other extension that will add this level of function to your Gmail.
